How to Photograph Your Pokémon Cards for Evaluation
To get the most accurate evaluation on pokegrade.org, please follow these simple photo guidelines:
What to Capture
Upload clear, well-lit images of:
- Front of the card
- Back of the card
- Close-ups of all 4 corners and edges
- Any damage or imperfections (scratches, whitening, creases)
- Holo area, if applicable
Photo Tips
- Use a flat, neutral background (white or gray works best)
- Shoot top-down, with the card centered and straight
- Avoid glare – use natural light or soft indoor lighting (no flash)
- Focus carefully – text and details must be sharp
- No filters or edits – show the card exactly as it is
For Best Accuracy
If you want the most accurate condition grading, we recommend using a card scanner or flatbed scanner at 300–600 DPI.
File Guidelines
- Format: JPG or PNG
- Resolution: 1080p or higher
- Clear filenames (e.g.
Charizard_Front.jpg
) - No sleeves or top loaders
